It can be argued that 2011 was the year of the reboot, re-imagining, and prequel -- and while there were many flops in that vein, we give credit where credit is due. With an excellent cast in Michael Fassbender, Kevin Bacon, and James McAvoy among others (sorry, January Jones -- you can step out of the line), X-Men: First Class was a thrilling and emotional re-telling of the origin of Professor Xavier's school for Gifted Youngsters. It was also a fairly heartbreaking depiction of the crumbling relationship between Professor X and his closest friend, the soon-to-be Magneto.
