So much for ending the month quietly. Last week the two gamer M.E.N. (yours truly and Scott Pierce) attended six different game events! One of those visits was to play Dead or Alive 5 on PS3, where we got healthy hands-on time with the two newly revealed female characters, Ayane and Hitomi. Surprisingly, there was less obvious bounce and attention to chest-level physics from the two women characters, and more quick, tough fighting requiring a steady hand preparing for counter moves.
The familiar rooftop level provided examples of the significantly interactive surroundings, with electrical nodes and surfaces everywhere, and a ledge from which players could engage quicktime events to determine how they would land 10 stories below. In another interactive addition, Tecmo enables gamers who have completed a large combo to slow time down, pick the area they'd like to slam their enemy into, and then hammer them.
In our feature piece on DoA5, we interviewed the PlayStation Blog's Senior Social Media Manager Jeff Rubenstein and GotGame's Blake Morse to provide feedback and impressions on the game.
