It's always a testament to a filmmaker's ability to compartmentalize story when they can summarize a long narrative and still get the general idea across to audiences.
Most of the time this is done with an adaptation from another medium to film for a large production -- but in this case it was for benefit of a fun, faux-film festival in Vancouver by some smart indie-filmmakers.
