Director Don Coscarelli returns with indie horror flick, John Dies at the End

By on September 26, 2011

Don Coscarelli, director of iconic eighties fare like Phantasm, Beastmaster, and more recently the quirky Bubba Ho-Tep, returns at Fantastic Fest 2011 with the above teaser trailer for indie horror film, John Dies at the End.

Based on a novel and webserial from Cracked.com writer David Wong (Jason Pargin), John Dies features a mix of feature film newcomers, and veterans like Clancy Brown (Pet Sematary) and Paul Giamatti. There is no shortage of practical effects in this film; there are crawling hands, gory monsters, and plenty of wet, squishy kills to accompany what looks to be a comically-horrific story.
