Stranger than Science Fiction: planet-sized sun tornado

The good folks over at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Maryland provided this video from the Solar Dynamics Observatory, that was launched two years ago on an Atlas V rocket from Cape Canaveral, Florida. If you'd like to know more about the amazing things the SDO does, click the red link.

A five thousand degree tornado made of dark matter? Very few things are more badass than that.
